You wake up and it’s been thirteen years.
You’re still alive.

You drink your coffee, take half a pill.
An email in your inbox asks
how you navigate your relationship
with schizoaffective disorder as a third wheel.
You cry a little. You stop crying.
It’s dark outside.

When you pull the Nine of Wands,
the twiggy branches are climbing to the moon.
The book says,
Realize how far you’ve come.

Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit.
You’ve come so far.
You’re still alive.
You’re still right here.

My online course, Rawness of Remembering: Restorative Journaling Through Difficult Times, is now open for early-bird registration. Remember: it’s not about the journal; it’s about uncovering your voice and realizing your own bravery and strength. I couldn’t be more thrilled about how the class is shaping up, and I hope you come alongside me on this journey.
